• Playback is audible. In an enemy’s line of sight or earshot, it is a loud action and breaks 👥 Hidden status.
• Program holotapes — terminal utilities, robot personality modules, security overrides — will not run on a player. Those need a terminal, a 📱 Pip-Boy, or the machine they were written for.

Cannot be crafted

The 🔨 industrial-workshop rule puts magnetic tape decks out of reach of a field workstation. Found, bought, or taken.
