On a success you learn:
- Whether the area, object, creature, or container of food or water is irradiated
- Roughly how badly — enough to compare two routes, two water sources, or two corpses
On a failure, the reading is inconclusive. You may try again after moving to a different spot.
Passive warning
You do not need a Test — or any ⚡ AP — to notice a strong source. The counter clicks whether you ask it to or not, and it starts climbing before you walk into the hot ground.
