♨️ Energy Resistance represents a material’s ability to absorb, dissipate, or deflect Energy damage such as lasers, plasma, electricity, or heat.
Energy Resistance applies only to Cover Objects, not to armor worn by creatures. A Cover Object’s Energy Resistance is determined by its 🧱 Material — see the 🧱 Materials table for the canonical values (wood, concrete, steel, etc.).
Effect of Energy Resistance
When an Energy ⚔ Attack strikes a Covered Limb, compare the attack’s damage to the cover’s ♨️ Energy Resistance.
Penetration Resolution
Let:
- D = Energy damage of the attack
- R = the cover’s ♨️ Energy Resistance
| Damage Comparison | Result |
|---|---|
| D < R | The attack is fully blocked. No damage is dealt to the cover or the target. |
| R ≤ D < 2R | The attack chips the cover. The cover takes D − R damage. The target takes no damage. |
| D ≥ 2R | The attack penetrates the cover. The cover takes D − R damage, and the target takes D − 2R damage. |
