You have been caught off guard at the start of combat. Applied to your entire side when an enemy lands a successful Sneak Attack at the opening of combat, or when your party loses a PER + 🏕 Survival spot check on a World Map encounter — see 😲 Surprise for the full rules.
Effects
- You cannot take Actions, use 😮 Reactions, or use 😮 Free Reactions during the Surprise Round
- The debuff falls off automatically at the end of the Surprise Round; combat then proceeds normally
- Characters who were sleeping when surprised additionally start combat Prone with nothing in their Weapon Slots or Quick Slots (armor remains equipped)
- The 🎖 Cautious Nature perk prevents you from being Surprised
